Entertainment
AMW International provides a full range of services for
international and Thai based film and television industries.
Asian Movie Works (AMW) was founded in 1997 to promote Asian
film and film industries. Raising international awareness to Asian
product and to the respective entertainment industries through
licensing of film product, written articles for major entertainment
trade publications and attendance at film festivals and markets,
AMW strives to establish synergistic business ties between the
entertainment industries of Asia and the West.
AMW International staff have over 25 years of international
marketing and business experience bridging the USA and Asia. With
strong ties to Hollywood and the film and broadcast communities
of Europe and Asia, managing director Scott Rosenberg is
presently Asian Bureau Chief for NY based Film Journal
International. Until January 2003, was the SE Asia based
correspondent for LA based Variety. Prior to that, Mr.
Rosenberg wrote for The Hollywood Reporter.
Mr. Rosenberg has served as director of the International
Film Festival at BOI Fair 95 and consultant to the World Film
Festival in Manila, Philippines. He is also consultant to
several international film festivals on film product from SE
Asia. Mr. Rosenberg worked closely with the ASEAN
Secretariat in December 1997 producing the " 30th Anniversary
Celebrations of ASEAN" in Jakarta, Indonesia. In August 2003,
Mr. Rosenberg served on the main jury at Cinemanila
International Film Festival in Manila Philippines and in
September, he acted as moderator for the 'Strategic
Opportunities in the Entertainment & Media Workshop' at the
India ASEAN 2nd Business Summit in Mumbai, India and in March
2004, moderator of the 'Strategic Opportunities in the Film
Industries of Asia' panel at FRAMES 2004.
Mr. Rosenberg in mid-2004 was appointed
programmer of the first Phuket, Thailand Asian Film Festival to
be held December 10-12 2004.
AMW International has consulted with the Thailand Ministry of Commerce,
Department of Export Promotion, (DEP) Services Trade Division
and the Thai Film Board on export of Thai entertainment product and development of the
industries themselves.
In May-June 2001 AMW International
organized a "Roadshow
to Hollywood " for Thai television and film executives,
helping promote Thai entertainment services to Hollywood while
experiencing a "hands-on" experience with new digital
technologies. The Roadshow also allowed for networking to take
place between executives of the developing Thai industries and the
main stream motion picture and television markets.
As global markets expand, synergistic business relationships
are crucial for creation of dynamic business ventures. AMW
International assists
clients in taking advantage of these relationships by identifying
interesting projects, opportunities and ventures in entertainment
fields throughout the region. Because of its unique nature as
the only international entertainment consultancy based in Asia,
AMW International has been very successful in providing market
information and intelligence for clients.
AMW International is continually searching for entertainment product
for representation. As our knowledge of available product grows,
so does our ability to raise awareness at appropriate venues throughout
the world to quality film product.
We are also the only Asian based consultancy with
its finger on the pulse of multiplex theater development and expansion
throughout the region and as such, act as adviser to US based
VNU Film Exposition Group, organizers of CineAsia, the prime theater exhibition show in Asia.
Along with CineAsia, VNU Film Exposition Group produces three
other shows, the Hollywood mainstay ShoWest held in Las
Vegas, ShowEast for the Latin American market and Amsterdam
based CineExpo for the European market.
In 2004, AMW International worked with
VNU Film Exposition Group to put on CineAsia Production
Trade Show and Conferences for the production side of the
film business.
Because of our close working relationship with the
film and television industries of Thailand and as a focal point
for established Hollywood and European entertainment companies,
AMW has begun to play a role in location coordination for major
motion pictures, television and advertising shoots as well as
providing our international clients with the best bi-lingual cast
and crew available in Thailand. (see link below
for more information).
A new service being provided by our
sister organization in the USA, Asian
Movie Works, Inc. USA , for Asian film and television crews wishing to
film in the USA is "sponsoring agent" to the USA
Department of Immigration and Naturalization (INS).
Filing of papers with INS is necessary before legal visas for USA
entry can be granted for filming to take place in the
USA. Contact us for more details.
Another service we introduced in 2002 "office
support services" hosting for international
companies interested in entering and gaining a presence in the
American market (go here for
additional information).
For all our services, we act as a facilitator, networking
our clients into the talent and resources available in selected
locales.
